About Me

Hi I'm Faye and I am the creator of The Self Care Hour.  I am a Level 4 Trainee Counsellor, College Lecturer, Artist, Co-director  of Compass Educational Psychology and more importantly a Mum, wife, sister, friend, double transplant recipient (and chronic overthinker!)

From very early on I understood that if I wanted to feel better physically and emotionally, I needed to check in with myself to explore what I needed to feel better. I didn't want to rely, blame, or depend on others to lift me up and decided to take responsibility and accountability for my comfort and feelings in a proactive way.

I found mindfulness and meditation to help with the pain of having regular dialysis treatment and became a meditation teacher last year. My counselling journey has taken a number of years and I am currently volunteering for a charity and a secondary school in East Devon. I am a big believer that mental health affects physical health and vice versa. Self Care is a big part of my life, whether it's taking time to rest, establishing boundaries or getting outdoors more often.

Since developing my own rituals of  self care, I now hope to share these with others in order to help them explore what they need, and recognise when they need it. I hope to help those seeking improved well-being to connect with others and to create a  warm, supportive and friendly community in a safe and non judgmental space.

Thank you so much for visiting the site, if you have any questions, please do contact me.

Questions & Answers

Participation Process

Participation involves attending the weekly sessions, engaging in the activities, and connecting with the supportive community. No prior experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome to join. The program's attendance is flexible, allowing individuals to attend based on their schedule and needs. Consistent participation and engagement are encouraged for long-term well-being benefits, however this is not essential.

Why not do this at home?

The hope is that you will be able to integrate many of these practices at home! However The Self Care Hour encourages accountability, group connection and guidance along with the sharing of ideas and a social aspect where you will have access to one hour a week that is entirely for you.

Benefits of Joining
